1) Approval of minutes of Sept. 27, 2012

Approved with revisions.
ACTION: Kathy will update minutes & Carol will post on staff web.

4. Judy posted survey results on SharePoint.
ACTION: Carol will post 2012 survey results on the committee’s website; Carol will locate and post 2011 survey results as well.
7 (b) Evaluations were sent out and returned.

4) Selection of Fall Spotlights/Training Sessions

a) BIOL 130 (Jonathan)–Anne will present on Dec. 14th

b) Mobile apps (Susan)—ACTION: Kathy will check with Pascal and Nancy about a date to replace Dec. 14th

c) SimplyMap & Scholars GeoPortal (Susan)—Eva has confirmed for Nov. 30th

d) New Programs on Campus – Kathy has asked liaison librarians for expressions of interest in presenting a 3 minute description of new programs in their departments

e) RefGrabIt –ACTION: Carol will contact Jackie once Kathy has determined the date for Mobile apps.

Current schedules are on ISD’s SharePoint site.
Recommendation is to delete the schedules on the website and add a note directing people to the SharePoint site

• Templates (Training/Orientation Templates for ISR & Info Desk Staff)
Recommend deleting

• Comments on the ISD Training Programme
To be deleted since it is on SharePoint.

• “Providing Good Service @ the Info Desk” & “Good Service & the Reference Interview”
The “Guidelines and Procedures for the Delivery of Information Services” document refers to these 2 docs. Are there online resources (books, articles, youtube) that are more recent? Materials that we identify could be tagged on SP as “training resources”.

• Staff Surveys
Remove 2000 & 2001 when 2011 and 2012 get posted.

• Start of Term FAQ’s
Under Training Resources, add a note that Start of Term FAQ is tagged on Info Desk Wiki and is updated before Fall training sessions

• New Training Resources heading will include:

     - “Guidelines and Procedures for the Delivery of Information    Services”
     - Reference Interview materials
     - Statement about Start of Term FAQ being on wiki

Training Opportunities page:

• Education Institute statistics—delete

• Continuing Education Opportunities—this page was updated last year; however, some material is dated, e.g. Books in TRELLIS.

• ISD Sessions
This html page can’t be manipulated, e.g. tagged; Kathy will get Annie’s input.
Should most material be on SharePoint? And how does Drupal affect things?

ACTION: Kathy will ask Annie for direction on what material/how many years should be on our website.
ACTION: Carol will make recommended changes to website once Kathy checks with Annie

6) ISD Training Events

a) Using Tablets in the Library (Judy)
19 people attended; 11 gave feedback, 8 helpful, 3 very helpful

b) Petting Zoo—hand held devices (Kathy)
No update available from Annie & Jennifer at this point

c) NISO/DCMI linked data webinar—it would be better for WebOps to host it; Alison will look for an existing presentation that is pitched to info desk staff; possible retreat idea
