    • Marian reviewed the information gathered on Accessibility with the rest of the group. The following discussion ensued:
      • list resources on webpage, link to resources if possible, list call number/location where appropriate
      • update the existing checklist page http://www.lib.uwaterloo.ca/staff/
standards/ webaccess.html making sure that items listed in WAI priority 1 are included in the checklist, and look for any simple items listed under priority 2 that can be added to the checklist
      • also note the existing page http://www.lib.uwaterloo.ca/staff/
        webmaint/ accessibility.html
      • accessibility issues will be ongoing, will always need to be incorporated into design

      • library can incorporate template and customize, it is not in the same position as a small department
      • note the distinction between the web committee (whose interest is in branding) and the marketing committee (whose interest is in service and content), the proposal is from the technical people and the library approach is different
      • need to start with content and then design, always keeping in mind the purpose
      • need to investigate writing for the web and what does it mean
      • Sandra, Helena, Linda, Marina and Marian are interested in attending a one day course FIS course " Web Site Evaluation for User-Centred Design"
