Notes of Meeting of February 22, 2005

  1. Plan for changes to the new UW Web standards
    • Mark indicated that it should be a priority for the library to have the new web site launched in September.
  2. Notes from the last meeting, Monday Feb. 14, 2005
    • Notes were approved.
  3. Business Arising
    • Bill Oldfield will join the group
  4. Agenda Review
    • defer item #5: Mission statements
    • Add item: Google Search, becomes item #5
    • Add item: UW Gold Standard sites , becomes item #8
  5. Google Search
    • Bill can change the google search so that it searches within the ERM databases. The group discussed the various possibilities involved with the search item at the top of the page.
  6. What can we learn from other sites
    • The group looked at external web sites to see what others have been doing with web surveys . Christy, Helena, Marina, and Marian will meet to develop possible survey questions.
  7. Method to evaluate the use of the current web site
    • The group will put together a survey to add to the current web site in order to 1) keep users informed that the library web site will be changing and 2) to garner feedback to help develop a new site.
  8. Other UW Gold Standard Sites
    • The group decided to break into 3 smaller groups to develop prototypes that can then be compared at the next meeting. Group one will consist of Marina, Marian and Sandra; Group two will consist of Christy, Helena, and Rachel; and Group three will consist of Dan, Esther and Linda.
  9. Around the Table
    • Marina recommended that group members register for the IST sessions that are being offerred to inform the web creators of the new standard.
