- Marian reported that Canvas cannot be used for the floor maps because of several issues, including licencing. She will be using Illustrator.
- Bill noted that we need working versions of the floor plans.
- Bill demonstrated the 2 links above.
- There are different options for accessing the floor plans - from the homepage, from TRELLIS, etc.
- Dan noted one problem: for all items, including those with multiple muffheads (MFHDs), it is only possible to provide one "Where is it?" link (associated with the first MFHD) from TRELLIS to the floorplan. Action: Bill, Dan, and Charles to discuss.
- Marian asked for comments on the 3rd floor map.
Action: Marian will create maps.
- Comments:
- note front of building
- note elevators
- note photocopiers/public printer
- insert compass for directional purposes
6) Library Website Search Box
- Basically, it is out of our control OR if we have control, there would be a lot of work involved.
- Decision: leave as is.
7) Scholars Portal Summit
- Dan reported that some universities (Queens, Windsor) are implementing a Scholars Portal subject search capability (i.e., search all indexes and journals designated for a specific subject area).
- Charles mentioned the discussion about a federated search capability for both Scholars Portal resources and Z39.50-accessible resources. Dan noted the limitation of search fields which are available for Z39.50 searching.
- Charles noted that the focus of the Summit was on the searching capabilities of Scholars Portal. Both the failures and the successes of Scholars Portal were mentioned. There are various issues to be looked into, including infrastructure, server overload, and multi-search engines.
- Dan has offered his math and physics pages to trial implementation of a search box on a subject page. Action: Dan will be working on this with Doug Morton.
- Charles noted that the PowerPoint presentations will be put on the web. Action: Charles will forward to the group some specific presentations illustrating searching capabilities.

- Anne's message re University of Regina Library Website (see attachment to Agenda for this meeting from Marina)
- Change "Current News" to Announcements
