- Home Page Updates
Based on feedback from staff regarding our recent changes, we decided to make further changes to the Research Databases (Journal Articles) page.
We decided to break the second bullet into two items as follows:
Action: Esther will email Bill to make the changes as soon as possible.
- Location Maps
Bill and Marian have been working on the project over the summer. Marian would like the group to test the site for functionality and to provide feedback on what areas of the floor plans should be labelled, the use of colours, etc.
Action: Marian will send out an email giving the URL and further details.
Action: Esther will arrange for the floor plans group to meet the week of September 11.
- Terms of Reference
Action: Marina will add the revised Terms of Reference to the group's web site.
Dan has asked to leave the group. Concern was expressed that we have some representation from Davis ISR.
Action: Marina will send an email to Davis ISR asking if anyone is interested in joining LibWebReview.
- Embedding hCalendar Codes
LINC received a suggestion from a student about adding hCalendar codes to the orientation workshop schedule on the web. It was decided to let WebOps discuss the use of microformats first.
- Around the Table
A few updates from Dan:
Podcasting: some of the software has been installed and the group is ready to begin.
Blogging: are testing WordPress and b2evolution
ViewletBuilder: will be mounted on Systems laptops. It was also recently installed on the EDS machine.
Action: Dan will enquire why a trial copy of ViewletBuilder was placed on the EDS machine.
Dan and Christy are presenting Applying Social Web Tools to Your Research as part of the fall orientation workshops organized by LINC. We feel this session would be valuable for others in the Library.
Action: Sandra will speak to Jackie Stapleton (ISR Training) if her group would be willing to sponsor & organize a session for all Information Desk staff.
The Library has received ALA Library Technology Reports by Michael Stephens. Dan currently has the volume and will send it for cataloguing.
