CCAE Prix D'Excellence Submission (Rachel & Sandra)
Rachel distributed the entry submission document to the group. Rachel requested group members to review the Goals and Results section for any necessary additions. ACTION: All group members provide feedback to Rachel by noon, Friday March 2nd. ACTION: Rachel will incorporate any feedback and redistribute the final draft to members. Once consensus is reached Rachel will submit the application.
- Mathematics of the Subject Guides Page (Dan)
After some discussion on Dan's suggestion to fold his individual subject pages for the various Mathematics Faculty departments and schools under one category, it was decided to leave page as is.
- Scholar's Porter Search Box and Home Page (Dan)
Various alternatives of Dan's initial proposal of the home page (see item 9, Feb. 14 minutes) were presented to the group. The Meebo box mounted directly on the home page is not desirable at this time, given Chat hours of service, but the Ask a Librarian link could be more prominent. ACTION: Dan will work with Esther on making the Ask a Librarian link more prominent. Overall the group was in favour of the Journal Articles search box and also the drop down feature. More discussion is needed. Clarity is required on a number of issues:
- the relationship between the two search options TRELLIS and Journal Articles
- which drop down menu to use (subject guides v. research databases)
- wording
- links
ACTION: Dan will revise based on input.
- LibX (Bill, Christy, Marian, Rachel)
Bill reported the text area coding problem is a problem with Firefox, not with LibX. Hopefully, when Firefox issues a new verion the problem will be solved. Rachel will write up information on LibX once Firefox is installed on all the public workstations. An article featured in News @ Your Library can follow the Current News article at a later date. Christy reported the phasing in of Firefox will take a bit of time. ACTION: Bill will request systems to install Firefox on LibWebReview members' machines.
- Around the Table
None to report at this time.
