The ethics application has been sent.
Agenda Review
No changes.
Review of Timeline
- should come up with draft personas/scenarios to test draft designs
- we need to finish "final" design by the end of May
- discussion regarding steps 7 and 8 ensued, with the result that both steps should be completed in 4 weeks
- the question of whether we are dependent on Contribute was raised; the answer is no
- step 5 (survey) is ongoing; we do not have to wait to begin (except for ethics approval)
- the usability studies will not be a thorough job, just take a sample; they need to be completed by May 15
- draft designs (step 4) must be finished by the end of April
- tasks for Affan:
- main navigation
- sub-navigation
- printing (navigation bar - yes or no?)
- step 6 will take place from May 15-30
- check out http://www.libtest.uwaterloo.ca/clf for drafts Affan has already done
- should we keep sub-links open? No
- we should use the model Affan created which changes the page when a link is clicked on (e.g., http://www.libtest.uwaterloo.ca/locations/umd/)
- change "library home" to "library web"
- put a line between "library home" and "UMD home" to separate them
- have some major categories as sublinks under "library web"
- how should we use the right side?
- quick links, further navigation (e.g., discipline, UMD navigation)
- if we use the right side, then we have a printing issue
- printing issue
- print as it looks on the screen or lose the navigation bar, etc.?
- does every page have to be fixed width? Action: Marina
- if "library web" opens on secondary pages, options should be the same as on the home page
- discipline pages
- use the right column for discipline links?

Navigation Scheme
- need news/text in the centre section
- should we have a less "formal" website, opening it up for blogging, etc.?
