LINC Activities, Jan. 2003-Aug. 2004:
The Committee took initiatives on several fronts:
- Took a lead in the How Do I …? website project (with a co-op student) for the Library website, which resulted in a new web page
- Added new workshops entitled “Evaluating Web Resources” and “RefWorks” for the fall 2004 library instruction sessions
- Involved in the user study and subsequent development of International Students web page to assist students whose mother tongue is other than English
- Created a broad statement for the Home web page
- Reviewed LINC’s web pages
- Developed and maintained a Task Schedule of LINC-related activities and some Library-related promotional activities
- Two LINC members joined a Library Outreach Committee and will help co-ordinate the promotional efforts of both groups.
- Reviewed Library Tour Schedule and approved a proposal for staffing by casual User Services staff over four weeks
Publications and Promotional Activities
LINC continued to promote library instruction services and workshops through posters, brochures, bookmarks, kiosk displays, campus publications, and the public and staff web pages.
The fall 2004 poster, brochure and bookmark use a new design, with the slogan “Building Knowledge @ your library.”
