Minutes

Present: Jane Forgay, Anne Fullerton (chair), Linda Hastings, Wendy
Macpherson (recorder), Erin Murphy, Connie Shuttleworth, Melanie Watkins.

1. Anne Fullerton distributed copies of two articles for members to
consider for possible later discussion.

2. Linda Hastings showed copies of a winter flyer; additional dates
were added and text amended. Jane Forgay will proofread the text, before
the copy is sent to Esther Millar for printing.

3. Linda Hastings reported that posters for the kiosks will be laid
out much as in previous terms. Each workshop will be featured in turn.

4. Web versions of the winter flyer will be done by Matt Oliver,
through Linda Hastings, in such a way as to allow entry by topic or date.

5. Public Relations for January.
Jane Forgay will e-mail to us her list of places to leave flyers. Since
the cost of an insert into Imprint is high, perhaps we will leave this
until the fall to try, when there are more library programs and more new
students. For this winter, flyers will be sent to the dons, and to the
members of SSNG.
We woulld also like to have articles in Imprint and the Gazette, and
possibly street-scene strip with comments from several students. Linda
Hastings will draft something for Imprint and try to get it accepted for
January. The article for the Gazette should have a focus on teaching. It
needs to be printed in the Winter term in order to boost requests for
course-related instruction in the Spring and Fall terms.
We hope that in January we can have a talk with selectors to see what
their hopes are for public relations for user education work.

6. We will not have separate flyers for each program this January.
Jane and Wendy will look at Photocopier areas and other display spot
possibilities. Linda will consider how to adapt the flyer for use iin
displays.

7. Large coloured maps of the Porter and Davis libraries are being
developped for use on Kiosks. etc. Linda will make copies of these for
Jane, Wendy , and Anne. Linda is also working on a map showing how
undergradutes can get from UW to WLU.

8. The next meeting will be held in Davis on December 17 (Thursday)
at 9:15. Subsequent meetings will be Jan. 7, Feb. 4, Mar. 4, Apr. 1, May
6, June 3, July 8, Aug. 5.
