Minutes

Present: Jane Forgay, Anne Fullerton(Chair), Ann Naese, Connie Shuttleworth
(recorder)

1. Committee members distributing workshop flyers will pick the flyers up
from Linda Hastings. It was decided we will return to the drop off sites
in about 2 weeks time to check if they have been taken and leave more if
need be.
Workshop instructors will be asked to keep a record of how and where
participants found out about the workshop. Jane will create a form with
various location options for instructors to record information.

2. From the Undergrad Web page
- orientation page will alert patrons that similar workshops will be
offered in the next term. Ann Naese will work on this project.

Ann Naese presented the undergraduate page for usered. After some
discussion minor organization and wording changes were made. Ann will
send the updated page to user ed committee to view.

Jane will ask Esther Millar to arrange to change the PDF version of
the Beginners Tool Kit to HTML format.

3. Anne Fullerton handed out a copy of the proposal presented to the
Davis Reference Department. Connie will forward copies to committee
members who were not present.

4. Notes from discussion at Davis Reference.
Anne Fullerton handed out a copy of the draft of the User Education
Committee Terms of Reference as well as a copy of the Meeting of User Ed
Committee and selectors from June 6, 1995. Connie will forward copies to
members not present. Anne Fullerton will email a more explanatory version
of the proposal to all selectors and ask if anyone would be interested in
meeting informally on a regular basis to discuss issues dealing with
library instruction or other topic of similar interest.
We will discuss User Education Committee Terms of Reference at the next
meeting.

5. Alumni Web Page
There have been a number of questions by Alumni concerning their library
privileges. Anne Fullerton will draft a message outlining the problems and
inquiring who would be most appropriate to create an Alumni Web Page.
Committee members will receive the draft to review before being sent to
Library Council and Mary Stanley.
