6. Other User Ed Issues
a) FAUW's New faculty event each fall. Anne F. suggested we dove tail our
interest in connecting with new faculty with this event.
Display/handouts/other? All agreed.
b) Draft of the TUG Libraries map.
ACTION: Jane will send Linda Hastings suggestions about the draft the
committee made.
c) Draft of the flyer to Dons.
ACTION: Jane will ask Linda Hastings about the status of this.
d) "Flow charts" of how users find their way through TRELLIS. The
Committee agreed that while these charts were very useful considering the
current set up with TRELLIS/TUGdoc/ILL, they pointed out the convoluted
nature of the system. The Committee felt it was better for the Libraries
to spend time making the system more streamlined and self evident to users
rather than for staff to create guides for users to cope with the existing
system. The Committee could issue a statement (to whom?) about our views
on this.
7. Deferred items deferred or ones which need more discussion (randomly
listed):
1) Kiosk displays
2) Review of User Ed-related web pages on TUGweb and UWELIB
3) How to promote orientation around the campus (e.g., residences/academic
departments
4) Student Life 101
5) The Committee and the new organizational structure
6) Annual reports
7) WILU report
8) Fall faculty event planning
9) User Ed statement on TUG's need to assess the processes around which
users need to work when using TRELLIS, etc.
8.
Next meeting: July 8, 9:15
Place: Davis Conference Room
