* Jackie suggested we make use of the “What’s New” feature on the library homepage, to publicise the orientation workshops.
Action – Margaret to find out who is responsible for deciding what goes in this area, and Jackie will work with Linda to design the content

6. UW TRELLIS Pilots

Margaret explained the function of this group and suggested that, rather than be permanently represented on this group, we receive agendas and minutes, so that we can make use of any item that effects library instruction.

7. Career Resources Centre

Maureen outlined the background of the talks with CRC, who are asking for a bigger presence in the library. So far it has been agreed that:

i) we include a plug for CRC tours after each of our fall tours
ii) we exchange brochures, theirs will be available in each library’s display stands. Action: Maureen to arrange to have 50 of our fall brochures sent to Jayne Hayden
iii) new staff will be taken to CRC as part of their library orientation

8. LT3/Libray FLEX Lab web page

Susan Routliffe has requested that the instructions on using the lab be placed on the Library Instruction Committee’s page on the staffweb.
Action: Margaret to arrange for this to be done.

9. Statistics:

We would like the web workshop report form to write directly into a database. Both Chris Gray of our Systems dept and Glen Anderson of IST have worked on it. Linda Teather and Chris will decide how we should best proceed. If we decide to proceed with IST, Margaret will approach Amos to work with Glen.

10 Arts 199

This is a new course which emphasizes writing/reading skills and critical thinking. Susan Routliffe has already asked Christine, Erin and Shabiran to contact faculty to discuss incorporating library instruction in the courses..
