#2 (Business Arising), item 7—The design for "Request a Book not at UW" has been completed, and the poster will be printed.
#6—Janet has contacted Heather Fitzgerald who has agreed to look through the 'First Year E-zine' files for articles contributed by Library Instruction Committee (LINC). Linda has agreed to make a list of past kiosk displays. She already has a poster file.
Librarians involved in giving these sessions met to discuss organizational details. Anne Fullerton, Erin Murphy, Paul St. Pierre, and Jackie Stapleton will be the presenters on a rotating basis. Jackie will act as the main contact in the Library for Information Systems and Technology (IST) and LINC. Because of the lack of lead-time for advance registration, it was decided to re-schedule the sessions for the last week of each month rather than the first. The dates for up-coming sessions are still to be confirmed.
If the advance registration numbers fewer than 3 people, a session will be cancelled. One of the presenters will contact the registrants and offer them an alternate, one-on-one session, either with the presenter or with the Liaison Librarian for their discipline. Librarians will be asked their preference at the next Information Services and Resources Department (ISR) meeting. Librarians will also be encouraged to promote the sessions within their departments.
ACTION: Margaret has asked to be notified when a session is cancelled.
The Library Orientation Session for International Students will take place in the afternoon of May 3. The FLEX Lab. has been booked. Douglas Morton, Yulerette Gordon and Janet Wason will be the give the session.
Dan has read Paul's first draft and given him feedback.
Tours—Attendance numbers for the Fall 2001 Library tours were down from the previous years. During a discussion on the timing of tours during the Fall term, the suggestion was made that tour offerings be extended to the last week of September and into October. Opinions were divided on this issue, and a decision on dates for the tours was deferred until the next meeting.
ACTION: Margaret will gather the 1999 tour data and send it to LINC. Sam will consult with Richard as to UMD's preferences for Library tours.
TRELLIS Sessions—The number of attendees for 2000 and 2001 were comparable; however, in 2001, only 4 sessions were offered, half as many as the previous year.
DECISION: 4 TRELLIS sessions will be held from September 16 to 19. The description for the brochure remains the same.
ACTION: The FLEX lab will be booked immediately.
Find Journal Articles-Fast—These will be held during the weeks of September 23rd and 30th. Erin volunteered to be a presenter.

Information Sessions For Graduate Students—discussion deferred to the next meeting.
Keeping Up With Your Research—the schedule for the sessions will be confirmed at a later date.
Linda displayed her suggestions for the Fall 2002 poster, which combines the idea of 'Smarties' with the '@your Library' logo. LINC discussed the impact of the design and suggested alternate wordings. Linda will contact Nestles to find out whether 'Smarties' is copyrighted. She will also develop other themes for the poster and do a mock-up.
ACTION: LINC is to send Linda Information for the Fall brochure as soon as possible. She will do a draft in July, and send the final version off to the printers when she returns from holiday at the end of August.
Margaret thanked Erin and Maureen for their contributions to LINC.
New
