    8. Library orientation for non-library UW staff (Tim Ireland)
    9. Fall orientation – selecting dates & booking locations (all)

  3. Business Arising

    None.

  4. LINC’s staff web pages review (Janet, Tim, Helena)

Discussion focussed on restructuring of LINC’s site to follow format of User Services website – i.e. we would like to section-out a ‘staff only’ links and hide these from public view. Janet showed the group mock-ups of the proposed approach.
Action: Helena will check with Margaret to see if we should keep the “Reports” section staff-only, and if we should change the title (e.g. to “Highlights”).
Action: Janet will talk with Rose re. the technical aspects of implementing the proposed structure.

  5. How Do I … website project (Helen and LINC)

Suggestions were made re. deletions, additions, and changes to the file prepared by Helen (see http://library/~hyhe/howdoi/). We looked at Part 1 and Part 2, section # 1 of this document.
Action: all LINC members will send comments via email to the group by March 18 (Part 2 and onwards).

  6. LINC’s activities in foreign languages

    Deferred to future meeting

  7. Library presence in student handbooks

Marian brought various handbooks to the meeting, including those for Student Life 101, and for grads and undergrads. It has been suggested that library instruction could be advertised and detailed to a greater extent in these handbooks.
Action: Marian will find contacts for these handbooks.

  8. Library orientation for non-library UW staff

    Deferred to future meeting.

  9. Fall orientation – selecting dates and booking locations

In order to secure Flex Lab and conference room bookings for the fall orientation, we must act soon. Times and dates were chosen, coinciding with last Fall’s orientation schedule.
Action: Helena will book the Flex Lab and Davis & Porter conference rooms as appropriate. These will be confirmed with session presenters, and changes made as needed and when possible.

  10. Around the Table

Action: Helena will contact Linda Hastings re. mounting the list of Library Instruction’s annual tasks on the staff web.
WILU registration opened today. Action: Dan will forward details to the group.

Melanie requested that we obtain clarification as to what campaign will be run for the fall orientation (which includes the August Student Life 101), and if new ideas being floated, LINC members need to see and give feedback on these ideas.
