- Business Arising
#4. Helena reported that Marina has given approval to add the problem
report form to the "How Do I..." list.
- How Do I ...
Helena thanked members for their feedback. After some discussion the
group chose the page based on the Brock model. Helena will contact Brock
for permission to reproduce their model.
- Fall Orientation publicity
Linda presented the Fall Orientation poster. She will continue to develop
the basic idea and present it at the next meeting.
- Staff Instruction
Dan is working (with Alex McCulloch and Christine Jewell) on staff demos
and a handout for VDX Racer. These will be presented to User Service
on June 6th and to ISR on June 13th. VDX Racer goes live on June 18th.
- Library presence in student handbooks
The deadline for submitting information to the undergrad handbook is
the first week in June.
Marian and Helena have submitted tour dates only for the student life
101 hand book..
The library will be involved in this years scunt.
- LINC's activities in foreign languages
The committee agreed that a glossary of library terms would probably
be the best avenue to take in meeting some of the needs of International
Students using the library. Laura also suggested the possibility of improving
the number of technical dictionaries available in various disciplines.
- Crib sheets for help with online databases
This discussion will be left for the next meeting.
- Around the Table
Janet announced that there will be a Library workshop on the Ontarian's
for Disabilities Act.on June 4th. The guest speakers will be from the
office for disabilities staff. Janet will e-mail staff with more information.
