- Minutes of Previous Meeting
The minutes of the meeting of September 6th, 2005 were approved.
- Business Arising
- Jennifer Haas is now LINC’s administrative contact,
replacing Susan Routliffe.
- #7 from previous Minutes (Sept 6th, 2005) – Fall Workshop registration
form – Two library workshops were deleted from the LT3 calendar
due to a security breach (hackers). This caused a bit of a scramble
for an alternative location for one of the workshops. LT3 is
aware of this.
- #8 from previous Minutes:
- The International Students Library page requires somebody to
work on it.
- Google Scholar is being worked on by Kevin Manuel.
- Library tours and a brief report from Orientation
Outreach – L. Strome
Fall 2005 library tours were held in the Porter Library, serving approximately
3000 students. The tours and talks were tailored to meet the needs of
various faculties. Students were given the Fall 2005 Workshop brochures
and were advised to take the time to read through the various workshops
that were made available to them. Promotional tactics such as Smarties
were a huge success again this year.
- Meeting with Jennifer Haas – H. Calogeridis
Helena met with Jennifer Haas to discuss several issues
concerning LINC. Points brought up included LINC’s understaffing,
the future of library instruction delivery (the need to reach out in
a variety of ways), and LINC’s current projects.
- Projects – H. Calogeridis
Currently LINC has several projects on the go. These were outlined
in the previous minutes. Updates can be found above in the Business Arising.
