5. New Membership Updates
- Only one reply was received and it was not from a Librarian.
- A second call for members will go out, the focus is to have one Davis librarian. Jennifer Haas has agreed to help with recruitment.
6. Fall 2006 Schedule Update (Sandra)
- Dates have been booked and confirmed. It is basically the same as last year.
- New session: Applying Social Web Tools to Your Research (Dan Sich/Christy Branston)
- Library Tours
- Budget cut-back, volunteer recruitment is difficult, etc.
- possibility of podcasting: Rachel will be meeting with Library Executive to review.
- New enhanced maps being done
- Fall 2005 statistics were circulated. Numbers are low (total 109 participants).
- It was decided that we will cancel the tours for Fall 2006. We will look at alternatives for either this fall or sometime later in the year.
- Eva has sent new links for Geo Spatial.
7. Automatic WatCard Registration (Laurie)
- Since students no longer need to come to the circulation desk to validate their WatCards, we don’t have the personal point of contact anymore to impress upon them to take workshops. We will make a point to highlight the need for workshops at Student Life 101 and during the Orientation Tours.
8. RefWorks page proposal from Tim Ireland
- Tim spoke with Rachel but no one has had a chance to look at his proposal. Members are to look over the pages referenced in Tim’s message of May 26 and respond back to the group by June 16.
9. LINC–responsible Library Webpages
- Sandra will find out for which public pages LINC is responsible.
10. Around the Table
- Outreach: Barb reviewed how the BIBL Outreach on campus has been proceeding. They have been targeting three primary locations. Liaison Librarians, RefWorks, and MSN instant messaging are the hot topics.
- More Outreach: Rachel has been using the Imprint to submit library featured articles and has been getting positive feedback. She has also been working with e-zines. Submitting to the Daily Bulletin can be hit and miss.
- Google Scholar: Helena is working on a guide based on Kevin Manuel's work. It should be ready by September.
