Library Instruction Committee

Terms of Reference

Purpose

The Library Instruction Committee (LINC) designs, promotes, co-ordinates delivery of, and evaluates the library instruction programs, in order to develop the information literacy skills of University of Waterloo students, faculty, and staff outside the curriculum.

Roles and Responsibilities

Membership

Membership rotates in May to facilitate the development of the fall program.

Length of Term:

Appointment of a Chair:

One of the librarian members is appointed LINC Chair for a 3-year term.

Technical Support

Meetings

Committee meetings are held every two weeks, usually on Wednesdays.

Reporting

The Committee reports to the Associate University Librarian, Information Resources & Academic Excellence.

Review of Terms of Reference

The Committee will review the Terms of Reference every 2 years in consultation with the sponsor.
