User Services Name Change
In the absence of a department head, Wish Leonard will act as the communications link between User Services and the Library Managers group, and will attend Managers meetings.
When ILL/DD was incorporated into User Services the four existing User Services Managers agreed that they would be able to handle the additional workload with some reorganization. The department consists of three distinct units (Collections, Lending, and Resource Sharing). In November Library staff was asked to submit suggestions for a name change for User Services. After meeting with User Services staff to solicit feedback, User Services Managers recommended that the department be renamed Circulation Services.
The proposed name was well received by the Library Managers Group and it was agreed that the name change could take place effective immediately Sharon will send a message to Library staff informing that: a reorganization has taken place within User Services; Wish will act as the link with Managers; and, the unit has been renamed Circulation Services. Wish will inform appropriate TUG staff.
