1. Workplace Harassment Demo

Catherine Fry from Conflict Management and Human Rights did an online demonstration of the Managing Workplace Harassment program for Library Managers. This program will help managers to work through harassment issues in the workplace and addresses individual leadership styles. Library Managers will complete the program by September 17th when Catherine Fry and Matt Erickson will do a debriefing session at the Library Managers meeting.

          b) Around the Table Updates

Bill: Bill is the contact for Systems orientation for new staff.

Susan M.: Anita Streicher will be starting on July 2nd on a six month contract. Anita will be processing the Electrohome archives.

Ann: Interviewing at the internal stage is underway for a Library Clerk, Collections.

Betty: Cornelia Tiba started as Library Associate: Cataloguing and Information Service on June 16, 2008. The interviewing process will begin for a Russian Cataloguer.

Eric: Air circulation shutdowns will be taking place soon. Eric will keep everyone updated when he has firm dates.

Sharon:
• The Library Associate, Cataloguing position is at the external stage.
• TUGBars will be replacing Cornelia Tiba (Wish is the hiring manager.)
• Christy Sich’s last day is June 19th; this position will be posted soon. (Susan Routliffe will be the hiring manager and will be working with Jane Forgay and Margaret Yuen.)
• Laura Brigg’s position will be vacant as of September 1st; this position will be posted soon. (Jennifer is the hiring manager.)

Susan R.: Interviewing for the Porter ISR Department Head was completed the week of June 9th. Susan expects to announce the results of that competition shortly.

Mary: Cheryl Kieswetter will be coordinating proposals for the various faculty endowment funds. We will be looking to submit a project each term. A proposal was granted by the Arts Endowment fund for study carrels. Mary asked Library Managers to think of appropriate resources for these endowments.

c) Porter Reno Update

Alex provided an update on the Porter renovations. They are working aggressively to meet the August 15th deadline. The order for office furniture has been sent out. They are waiting to get pricing for directional and destinational signage. Alex circulated artist renderings for Library Managers to view.

3. Business Arising from May 28

Ann announced that a vending machine has arrived in Davis and is partially stocked, including earplugs. Cash or WatCards can be used at the vending machine. Porter circulation will stop giving out earplugs once a vending machine is installed in Porter (after the renovations are completed).
