There has been a lot in the press recently about MOOCs (massive open online courses). Discussions on campus are now underway. Pascal is currently enrolled in a course that is being taken by 85,000 students. The Library has decided not to participate in LibQual 2013. We have participated in LibQual four times in the past. We first participated in 2000, and although uWaterloo had a high participation rate relative to other campuses, we didn’t learn much that we didn’t already know. Because the participation rate for subsequent LibQual surveys was much smaller the data was not useful.
4. Library Review consultation feedback and next steps
The group discussed the considerable feedback that has been received, and began to discuss next steps. There will be another opportunity for discussion at the November 7 meeting.
