Welome to the Davis Centre Library Wayfinding Project website.

This report describes a project conducted to improve the signage system within the Davis Centre Library. The primary goal was to allow library patrons to access the available facillities in a more independent manner. The principle investigators and website authors were three, fourth year Kinesiology students in the Ergonomics Option completing their KIN470E course requirement. This project was intiated and completed during the Spring 2002 academic term.

The Ergonomics Option in the Department of Kinesiology is a unique program within the University of Waterloo community. It combines a broad range of disciplines, such as, systems design, health studies, physiology, biomechanics, and psychology. Graduates from this program are able to presrcibe solutions to workplace problems involving issues, such as, human factors, excesive repetition, fatigue, and machine design. A typical report structure has been adopted; i.e. executive summary, introduction, etc. Because this report is formatted in html it is open for perusal from anyne who wishes to do so. That is to say, please feel free to use this report in which ever manner you wish.
