Systems Department
Data Projector (Porter and Davis Conference Room)
- Point the remote control at the projector when using it. (It seems to work better.) Except when using the laser pointer of course. :) Be patient. It takes the projector 30-40 seconds to warm up. Pressing the Power button repeatedly because you think it's not working may inadvertently turn it off again. (You should see some lights on the projector indicating it is actually turned on.)
- On the old projector, the 'MODE' button was used to switch back and forth from the computer to the VCR. This is called 'SOURCE" on the new remote.
- Use the 'MUTE' button to darken the screen when necessary without having to turn the projector off.
- The focus and picture size have been preset at the projector and cannot be changed from the remote. They are at optimum now and shouldn't need to be adjusted further.
- There are lots of other buttons on the remote for fancy effects like remote mouse, 'picture in a picture' or to expand the image to enlarge a small portion of the screen, etc. Don't push them! (It can be easy to get things muddled up and it's not very intuitive on how to get back to where you started from.) However, if you would like to use some of these features, contact Systems for instructions.
