Connect to New Sites in Contribute
You may use Contribute to edit files in your personal web folder or on other servers. The following example describes the steps to connect to your personal files on the "library" server.
- Click on "Create a connection" on the front page on Contribute.
- To connect without a Contribute connection key, click on "Next".
- What is the web address of your website?
- Enter: http://www.lib.uwaterloo.ca/
~your_staff_account/
- How do you connect to your web server?
- Select connection: Secure FTP (SFTP)
- Enter name of server: library.uwaterloo.ca
- Enter username
- Enter password
- Then, click on "Next".
- Verify your name and email address. Click on "Next".
- Verify website, connection and user information. Click on "Done".
- If you return to the front page of Contribute, you will see that an additional connection has been made for you.
Remove a connection
- click on "Edit" on the menu bar
- select "My Connections..."
- highlight the URL of the connection to be removed
- click on "Remove"
