Creating New Pages
Using the Copy Current Page Method
The easiest way to create a new page is to use "Copy Current Page" from the "New Page" menu.
- Browse to a web page that meets the following criteria:
- is located in the directory where the new page will reside
- has the required number of columns
- has the required topictitle
- has the required right navigation
- has the required left navigation
- Do not click on "Edit Page."
- Select "New page..."

- Select "Copy of Current Page."
- Enter the full page title which includes your department or group, Library and University of Waterloo

for example:
Current News | Information Services & Resources | Library | University of Waterloo
- Click OK.
- Delete the existing primary content and add your new content.
- When editing is complete, select "Publish."
- Contribute gives the message:

Answer "Yes."
- Contribute will use your page title (step 5 above) to create a filename for you -- edit the filename using the appropriate naming conventions.
- Click on "Publish."
Note:
- If your new file is supposed to go into a new directory, contact Esther Millar (or another member of WebOps) to set this up for you first. A blank index.html file will be created for you to get you started.
- If one of the existing pages does not have the required number of columns, you can change this via "template properites" while in edit mode.
