Using the Popup Template

There are times when you might have an image or a table that cannot be accommodated within the 2 or 3-column formats of the Library Web and Library Staff Web templates.

Some examples:

For these kind of situations we have made accessible the popup template. You'll notice that the above pages do not contain any navigation. And at the bottom of the page there is a link to "Close this window."

The template is meant to simply provide a one-column format for a unique situation and then we want the user to close the window and continue using the regular site.

To apply the template:

Navigate to the directory where you want your page to appear
Select "New Page"
Select the "popup" template
Enter a "Page Title" and click on OK.
Place your image and/or text into the "Primary content area"
Continue editing and publishing as usual

Linking to the popup page

When you link to the popup page, choose "Target frame" - "New Window," otherwise when the user clicks on "Close this window" the entire browser may close down on them.
