Subject: Email Form vs. email address on web pages

The Web Operational Management Group will be glad to provide a simple individualized email form to be linked to your web pages. This will lessen the chance of your email address being harvested for email lists, and hence SPAM email. (See "Ways to keep spam out of your mailbox" http://www.bulletin.uwaterloo.ca/2001/apr/17tu.html.) Also, an email form may allow email to be sent at public workstations where the direct email function of the browser is disabled.

It should be noted that it is hard to eliminate SPAM email completely, as you do communicate in email and the address can be harvested for email lists in various ways.

Please let us know if you would like such a form. You can find an example at: http://www.lib.uwaterloo.ca/staff/email/wan.html.
