- Business Arising
From 3: TUG Web issues
Bill will append the TUG Navbar Processing notes to his previous document on the TUG navigation bar and send it to the group again.
- Agenda review
New web maintainers' training: moved up to item #4.
- New web maintainers' training
A request has come from User Services for Dreamweaver training. We do not know if basic UNIX and HTML training are required as well.
Esther will contact Alex to determine what is needed.
Marina will contact IST to see if they are willing to mount another training session for library staff.
- TUG Web issues
The Group reviewed and affirmed the memo Chris prepared for our meeting. He will add a concluding paragraph as discussed and will highlight our recommendation that the TUG IS Management Group facilitate a meeting with the Web Operational Management Group and its counterparts from the Guelph and Laurier libraries. Chris will then send the revised version to us.
- Progress Reports
- Custom 404
Chris has worked out the technical issues involved.
Esther will create custom 404 pages for the site as a whole and for the /titles/ and /howto/ directories when the two series are merged and renumbered in the Library Guides series.
- Dreamweaver 4 reference book
Chris will arrange with Carl to order 8 copies of the Dreamweaver 4 Bible as well as an additional copy of Dreamweaver 4 : Skills & Drills (The Essentials) for Special Collections.
Copies ordered for: Porter Library Office; Porter ISR; Davis ISR & Library Office; Systems; UMD; Porter User Services; Davis User Services; and Special Collections.
- Web use statistics - thank you & summary note
The memo prepared by Chris was reviewed and approved. He will organize it into 2 sections before sending: a thank you and a summary note for those who wish more detailed information.
- Government publications' proposal
The issue raised by Susan Moskal was resolved via e-mail. Susan will print off the .pdf documents and get them catalogued.
- Request for e-mail forms
2 groups and 4 individuals have requested e-mail forms in place of using the mailto: codes.
- EZProxy
George Loney and Don Hamilton will be evaluating EZProxy this summer.
- Criteria/guiding principlies for decisions on the use of features in Dreamweaver and the application of HTML codes.
