- Minutes of meeting, May 15, 2002
Minutes accepted.
- Business Arising
2.2 Further discussion of this was made a separate agenda item.
5. The new line of Macromedia products, including Dreamweaver MX, has been released this week. Carl is looking into pricing.
- Agenda Review
An item was added on permissions to access TUG Web site files was added to the agenda.
- New Library Web implementation
The decision was made at a CNAG meeting on May 27 not to use drop-down menus on pages other than the top page, at least for the purposes of the current implementation. This considerably reduces the work needed for implementation, since then only server-side includes need revision, not every page.
The group reviewed the document, "Steps to Convert Library WebSite", to simplify it and adjust scheduling. The implementation plan now extends over two weeks. One week to do technical tests, back up the current site to CD, and freeze the site. The second week will be devoted to the actual implementation and final review of results and publicizing the change.
The latest possible start date for this two week period would be August 12.
- Moving EZproxy into production
The Library Systems Managers asked WebOps to look into what should be done to bring EZproxy into production. A list of tasks was put together and assigned.
- Give Charles and Bill access to the server and document procedures and file locations (Chris)
- Reconfigure for single port service (Chris consulting Don Hamilton)
- Set up IPSentry entries for EZproxy (Charles)
- User documentation (Marina)
- Prepare matrix of browser/ISP combinations to test (Charles)
- Monitor issues concerning EZproxy and Virtual Reference (Marina)
- Ensure logging is turned on and logs are archived (Chris)

Access to TUG Web file areas
Charles advised the group to minimize the number of people given permission to work on the TUG Web site and to avoid complicating the group structure of the site. Esther indicated there were only about 4 people who needed to be added. Charles suggested we run the list by the TUG partners in case they need to add people.
- TRELLIS quick search form
Chris developed a script that allows a form to do a quick search of TRELLIS to be placed on the top Web page. There is interest in this possibility from CNAG for the new library Web page. CNAG can move forward on this, but possible impact on the TRELLIS servers should be monitored.
