  1. Minutes of meeting, September 4, 2002

    The minutes were approved with a correction in item 13 to the spelling of Esther.

  2. Business Arising


    1. #9. A Library Web Page Dependencies page has been created by Esther and can be found at: http://www.lib.uwaterloo.ca/staff/
      webops/changes.html. On this page a chart shows that if a certain page is edited then other pages might need changes as well.
    2. #10. Marina has brought up the issue with Susan. Susan will discuss with Mark about the role of web master.
    3. #5. Esther reported that 5, 7, and 8 are completed.

  3. Agenda Review

  4. Navigation Bar

    A test page was created by Esther using textual drop down menus. This page is located at http://www.lib.uwaterloo.ca/index1_emtest3.html. Charles reported that its loading time was tested against the present home page. The loading time of this new page was markedly faster than the present page. Also, these new menus will make edits a quick and easy operation. Esther will build a sample page with colour and font variations for WebOps, CNAPG and Janet Wason to choose from. The committee hopes that this new design can be installed as soon as possible.

  5. Adding Items to the Menus on the Navigation Bar

    The group agreed that news @ your library be added to About Us, and Laptop Connection be added to Help. These additions will be added with the new drop down installation.

  6. Use of T.I.L.T @ University of Waterloo

    Marina and Esther reported that several classes are now using TILT.

  7. Around the Table


    A suggestion that Paul St-Pierre be asked to join WebOps was agreed upon. Marina Wan will consult with Paul and with his supervisor Susan Routliffe about the possibility.
