Present: Chris Gray (Recorder), Linda Hastings, Esther Millar, Marina Wan (Facilitator), Charles Woods, Mike Wang
Absent: William Oldfield
- Minutes of 17 Sep 2003
Accepted without changes.
- Business Arising
- #5 Esther - Carl is getting JAWS 60 day demo
- #6 We'll be holding off on the upgrade to Dreamweaver MX since Dreamweaver 2004 is available and will soon be on campus
- #11 Orphan file clean up - Charles has burned a CD of Murray's photos. Anne Fullerton is looking into whether usability prototypes need to be saved. Charles will transfer ownership of Susan Moskal's files to Marina.
- #2.5 New discipline pages - another discipline has gone live in the new format. There will be a slow down now since librarians are busy with other things in Sept.
- #12 New ISR member of WebOps - Susan Routliffe OKed sending out an invitation to ISR members to show interest in joining WebOps. Only one person showed interest and then withdrew. We will wait to see how a new member fits into the coming library reorganization.
- #8 navbar update - The recent changes to the navbar still need to be propagated to some of the servers offering parts of the Web site.
- Agenda Review
No changes were made to the agenda..
- Changes to the current co-op student project
Dreamweaver 4 will still be in use for a while by some staff as we wait for DW 2004. It is being used by ISR staff to create some of the new discipline pages. Mike will have to make changes for some people rather than teaching them how to do it themselves if they don't have MX.
- Proposal on co-op student project in the Winter term
Laura Briggs is finding herself swamped entering library-related pages for courses in UWone. Helping her with this will be included in the job description for the next WebOps co-op student.
- Dreamweaver directories on staff computers
The workstations group is trying to cut down the amount of superfluous data being backed up nightly. The suggestion is to move Dreamweaver local directories out of My Documents where they are backed up. Esther will check with Wolf and Carl about how big the DW files are, since there is uncertainty as to the size of the problem.
- Around the table
- Chris - The content management project is nearing conclusion. A draft was reviewed by the group last week and it will be gone over again next week before submission to Mark. Esther will talk to Mark about how the Web pages produced by the group should be linked into the staff Web site.
- Marina - Marina will ask if ISMC has ultimate content responsibility and how it will co-ordinate with WebOps on Web mastering. The coming Library restructuring seems an opportunity to help clarify this issue.
