10. Page counters - WebOps does not foresee any problems with using page counters, but noted that if users encounter problems, we cannot provide support since many page counters run and store their information from their own servers. In the past we have not encouraged the use of page counters, since we have found them unreliable.
11. End of conversion project - At a recent ISR meeting Marina reported that we would like to retire the old navigation bar by the end of December. Discipline pages that have not been converted to the new css-based template format still use the old navigation bar. Since all discipline pages may not be ready by then, this may not be possible.
9. Home page Quick TRELLIS Search - not yet completed, Chris will handle this as his schedule permits.

- Contribute deployment
We reviewed Bill's document entitled "Contribute Deployment Strategy" November 26, 2004. He will make a few changes based on our discussion.
- Applying the UW campus template
Affan demonstrated how Jesse Rodger's template works. We noted some problems: side navigation is hard coded into the template rather than using an ssi; it is based on the use of optional regions. We expressed concern on how this will work in a Contribute environment.
ACTION: Bill will contact Jesse about the template and how it will work with Contribute
ACTION: Marina will let Mark H. know that Jesse's template does not meet the Library's needs. We can live with the new look, but we will need to create our own templates and CSS files.
ACTION: Affan will look at creating left navigation where the menu item opens up without changing the information in the right content panel. He will also test "if" conditions using Contribute.
- Focus of Affan's work in the last two weeks
Affan will experiment with Contribute and templates. He will also work together with Esther to set up roles for all web maintainers in Contribute.
- PERMA project update
PERMA has looked at proposed layouts. Work will continue into the new year.
- Home page review project update
A few changes are proposed:
- change Welcome message to Current News
- add RefWorks to end of buttons on the right panel
- change some dropdown menu items
- Meeting Schedule for 2005
Meetings will again take place every other Wednesday, starting January 12, 2005.
ACTION: Esther will layout the schedule and book the Conference Rooms.
- Around the Table
Optometry will be moving their OLRC pages to the library server.
Affan will be providing a training session on basic CSS on Thursday, December 16, 2:30 - 4:00 pm in the Davis Conference Room. We are inviting WebOps members as well as Rose Koebel and Marian Davies.
