1.Site Specific WebVoyage (Alex McCulloch & Dan Sich)
A project to develop site specific brands of Trellis has been in the works for over a year. The TRELLIS Operational Management Group has put together a project proposal to be discussed next week. Alex and Dan asked for a volunteer from WebOps to serve as a technical support person to work on the project. Linda Hastings volunteered. Linda's skills in graphics and knowledge of CSS will be an asset to the group. Bill noted that generally, the WebOps committee as a whole, has a "shallow knowledge" of CSS and that members could use extensive training in this area.

Approved with minor changes
3. Business Arising
5. Perma Update - Bill reported that the new ERM web pages are now up and running live. The ERM database is currently running on a temporary backup machine until a problem with the regular hard drive can be fixed. Charles added that monitoring practices and recovery systems are in place. Bill reported that the current comments form directs messages to WebOps and he asked the group if this should continue. Marina decided that we will monitor the situation for a while and then make a decision about where the comments should be directed. Marina also indicated that usability studies for these new pages will be done in conjunction with the LibWebReview project.
8. Home Page Review - Marina reported that phase 1 of the home page review has been completed. Linda has a few minor files to update but the new changes to the homepage should be ready to go live on Monday February 14.
11. Oral History Project - Marina learned that the student working on the project was temporarily using a different server, but would be fixing all the files when the project was moved to the library's server.
Bookit - Some members of Web Ops who do not currently use Bookit will attend Linda Teather's training session.
4. Agenda Review
Item 6 - Contribute deployment strategey was removed. ACTION: Marina will contact Carl to request copies of Contibute for WebOps members.
5. New UW Web guidelines
A discussion of the new UW web guidelines ensued. Jesse Roger's documentation and samples of the new guidelines can be found at : http://pole.uwaterloo.ca/cpadev/engtest.
Esther reported that management and leadership of the UW web guidelines has changed over to IST. Esther spoke to Carol Vogt from IST who informed her that there will be three types of information sessions offered to the campus community:
Esther also reported that September has been suggested as a date for campus groups to implement the new UW gold standard, however this has not been finalized. As part of the gold standard, all UW web pages will be expected to include the UW crest, a search box at the top of the page, a unit title and a left navigation bar. Carol told Esther that usability testing of the new gold standard had not been done.
6. Preparing for Website Changes
The committee discussed some issues related to the upcoming website redesign. The location of the files for the new web site while it is being developed needs to be decided. We will need to decide how many different templates we will use or need. We will also need to decide what type of content could be accessed as a server side include. Esther noted that she is taking a course on Contribute administration that could possibly help us decide how to handle some of these issues.
7. RSS
Chris demonstrated RSS to the committee. Some of the examples from his presentation include:
