    4. Plan for Website Conversion
    Marina has updated the plan and Bill has discussed the creation of an htdoc3 area on the Library computer with a new Webmaint account and webmaint group
    5. Library Navigation Bar on TUG and other Servers
    Mark has been informed about the current state of the TUGweb.

  4. Conversion plan finalized -- any loose ends?
    • Charles has created an htdocs3 directory. He will re-copy htdocs to htdocs3 on Sunday after the Website is frozen and at that time make the owner of the files the new Webmaint account and the group webmaint. This will be applied to all areas except Jim Parrott's Scholarly Societies and the cgi directory.
    • The links on the footer ssi are not yet determined. A new Contact us page will be created. The Give us feedback link will point to the current feedback form. Later the form will be adjusted to allow the redirection of the email to relevant departments in the Library. The copyright link will continue to point to the UW copyright page but the text will be changed to 2005 only.
    • Chris has identified 383 files on the website that point to TUG pages (ie. tug.lib.uwaterloo.ca). Chris will set it up so that the new look and feel at Waterloo will replace the two files currently loaded from the cgi. The search box only will be used if adding the navigation bar proves too complicated for an easy change.
    • When the Website is frozen next week Esther will move all already converted files from htdocs2 to htdocs3. When this is completed, connection keys will be sent to maintainers so they can practice with Contribute in the htdocs2 area. After the freeze any changes made to the old htdocs area will be lost.

  5. Maintainers - access to website after the conversion

    No access will be available to the converted site for maintenance until a connection key is sent to the maintainers. This will allow the transfer of the Contribute control files after which the htdocs3 area can be renamed htdocs. The old htdocs area will be saved under an htdocs_old name until successful transfer is confirmed.

  6. Around the Table

    Marina will take over John's supervision when Esther is on holidays. This time is dedicated to ISR activities and the ISR portion of the Staff web conversion may be a good area to examine.
