  1. 1. Approval of WebOps Minutes of October 21
    Deferred.

  2. Business Arising
    Deferred

  3. Agenda Review
    4. LibGuides agenda item took precedence

  4. LibGuides Proposal
    1. Review Project Plan
    2. Annie discussed the Implementation Project Plan. Access to this document as well as the Project Proposal and the Review of LibGuides' Accessibility is available through private guides, which can be accessed after logging in to LibGuides or through a direct URL. The direct URL for LibGuides Working Group is http://uwaterloo.libguides.com/aecontent.php?pid=78162 and for the UW LibGuides for Authors is http://uwaterloo.libguides.com/aecontent.php?pid=80053.

A proposed template is also available at http://uwaterloo.libguides.com/Template.

The implementation has an aggressive timeline. Nancy suggested that migration could begin now once all the agreed common boxes and an agreed profile design were determined.

    3. Technological Review Planning
    4. Chris asked if all users will be alerted when a page they have linked to has been deleted.

Chris noted that content can be pulled from the guides in xml for migration of the guides and the process is well documented. Can parts of a guide be pulled is a question?

Charles wanted to know about backup and rollback processes.

Rollyo was mentioned as a means of setting up a guide specific search option.

Bill will look into these questions.

    5. Assign responsibility for unclaimed items
    6. Unassigned tasks were assigned to members of the LibGuides group.

      • Annie and Janet will finalize the accessibility requirements developed with Kate and add them to the Working Groups libguide.

    7. Assign firmer dates for first tasks to be accomplished
    8. Plan meeting frequency
    9. Meeting will be held every second week opposite the WebOps meetings.

    10. Establish reporting to WebOps frequency

Annie presented the proposal (from herself, Nancy Collins & Kathy Szigeti) to subscribe to and implement Libguides. The proposal has been accepted by Library Executive and has been successfully demonstrated to Davis and Porter ISR groups. Initially, Libguides would be used for subject and course guides but the option is open for other material (eg. How Tos) as well.

Systems people indicated they would put together a series of questions they had.

Assuming there are no roadblocks, there an ad hoc implementation group is being set up; this would reduce to an advisory role once everything is up and running. Annie will join WebOps during this period. January 2010 was tentatively set as a launch date.

  5. Around the Table
    Deferred.

  6. Next Meeting: November 11, Davis Conf. 2-3:30 pm. Recorder: Charles
