Approved new banner images to replace 5 dated banners on homepage.

- Recommendations to WebOpS members:
Understanding the basics of WCMS and perhaps some accessibility focused material.
- Reminder that Library Managers approved the WebOps proposal of a core set of 4 SEW courses for web content developers.
- WAC - Web advisory Committee Update
Chris G. provided a short update.
- Creating short URLS and adding tools/modules to streamline process
- SEW course on accessible PDF
- Issues content sharing across websights /Link to content vs static content/
- Discussion about the need for an Accessibility link in the footer and what it should lead to has occurred. Chris provided a summary that 1) the link is needed, 2) it will lead to the Accessibility Commitment and have links to services, and 3) it will not include alternative technologies instructions since users should know how to use their technologies of choice.
- Web Governance Framework
- Proposal for core dedicated web team
- WebOps and Steering Committee meetings seem to be well partitioned / keeping technical talk away from high level priority setting decisions/meetings.
- Scope issues, should be handled at the Steering Committee
- Roles of the individuals in this team should allow flexibility to handle other diverse technical projects not foreseen at this time.
- Overall agreement of this new proposal
- TSC renamed to "Web Development Steering Committee" (WDSC?)
- WebOps will be organic / flexible to change
- Systems should not by themselves set priorities of projects
- Closing - Annie wants some feedback / help with:
- Job descriptions
- Review documents
- Complete proposal document bundle to be ready July 11 for Library Managers
- Grad Integrity Tutorials
- The site does not meet AODA accessibility guidelines
- Needs to be updated and ready for January 2013
- This may be offloaded to CEL, in partnership
- Undergraduate tutorial should be reviewed for compliance
- Around the Table
- Optometry moving to Faculty of Science’s Drupal site
- Partnership between the Library and Science might aid in LibGuides and other widget creation
- Geospatial Centre webpages have shortened url redirect: lib.uwaterloo.ca/geo. For use on business cards, promotions, etc.
- Photos from recent photoshoot will be used to revamp webpages
