Minutes of the Meeting of July 25, 2012

  3. Footer Change
    Group agreed to the proposed changes to the footers of web-site pages that enable social-media links. The change in the footer should automatically enable this for -most- site pages. Esther will explore the methodology of the change and will probably require assistance from Systems. A timeline will be developed for this change.

  4. Web Governance Framework

    Annie updated the group on comments received from managers' meetings of July 18 and July 25. The Web Governance framework was approved in principal. Next steps include development of a communications and and consultation plan. The group discussed suggestions for membership of the consultation group. Terms of referernce for the steering group and the core web team should evolve in this process.

  5. WAC - Web advisory Committee Update

    Due to time limitations it was agreed that Chris would update the group in the next WebOps meeting. However he noted that there will be a meeting between Library staff and the IST CMS team on September 7 to discuss fundamental issues:
    • what is the special nature of the Library site
    • why would it require a separate Drupal site
    • what would the Library require from IST for support and resources
    • what are our AOD requirements
    • what would be Library-specific taxonomy requirements
    • are there any specific index requirements

Annie will set up a time for the Library members of this meeting to huddle with herself and Pascal before they leave for vacation.
