84 Frederick Street

The new building allowed the YWCA to expand its activities in every sphere--a residence facility for over 70 women, classes in "physical culture," groups for women new to this country, other educational groups and the opening of the first "cafeteria" in Kitchener--the YWCA dining room.

The photographs shown below are from the rich archives of the YWCA now deposited in the University of Waterloo Library. Nothing documents the work and life of the YWCA so interestingly as these photos which depict the wide range of activities in years up to 1930.
