Some of these work better than others; this is experimental and experiential. Many are slow; some aren't here yet. Some require separate apps. Those apps in the list are Apple product-based, iPod, iPad, iPhone; my testing is on an iPod Touch. Proxy-checking is now in place where applicable.

Caveat: Even though some of these are geared for the small screen, screen-size is important. On the smallest screens (smartphones) you may want to just use these for quick citation-checks and find a tablet-size when doing a more extensive search.

Note: Wilson databases moved to Ebsco in Feb. 2012. No mobile access seems to be set up yet.

ProQuest While users can access and use the new platform on a mobile device right now, it is not optimized for the small screens common to mobile devices. ProQuest is planning to launch a browser-based interface specifically for mobile devices in the second half of 2011. And, they better spend more time on the main interface before puttering with a mobile one! (latest info 2012.01.20)
