Pennsylvania Wills, 1682-1834. The Wills of Chester Co. Pa. 1778-1800, Will Abstracts, Pg. 1012

STROHM, JOHN E. Nantmeal, April 16, 1787 (date will was written), October 13, 1791 (date of probate or court action following the death of the testator)

Provides for wife Eva. Executors to sell plantation. To oldest son Christian Strohm L5. Remainder equally divided among wife Eva and children, Christian, David, Jacob and Eva Strohm.

Executors: Wife Eva, father-in-law Christian Pleem, brother-in-law Christian Pleem, Jr.

Wit: Jacob High, David High, Jacob Bechtel

Upon learning of the Will, Bill made a trip to the Chester County Archives in West Chester, Pennsylvania. He was then able to find the actual Will and a number of other Strohm related documents. The documents uncovered are as follows:

1.John Strohm Last Will and Testament, April 16, 1787

2.Inventory of the effects of John Strohm, deceased - Appraised July 31, 1789. Note: In the 1790 census, a Strohm (Widow) is listed in the Chester County, East. Nantmill Township listings. The 1800 census lists a Strome, Eve in Chester County.

3.Property Deed from Henry Sheffer to John Strohm, 130 Acres, December 3, 1782

4.Property Deed from Eve Strohm to John Taylor, 61 Acres, May 28, 1800

5.Property Deed from Eve Strohm & Christian Pleem, executors to George Snider, 26 Acres, April 4, 1806. Note: From the Eby book, Eva and family arrived in Canada May 26, 1806.

6.Property Deed from Christian Strome to George Eargood, 41 Acres, May 16, 1811. Note: From the Eby book, Christian came to Canada in 1810. Since the property was only sold in 1811, is the Eby book wrong?

It should also be noted that Pleem is the same as Bliehm. Also, it has been spelled a number of different ways such as Blym, Plim, and Bleam in various references.
