The TUG Ejournals Group is investigating ways to improve our current search capabilities (see our response to requests for improved search engine). A more powerful search engine would provide a variety of enhancements, such as a title index. A title index would allow the searcher to browse forward and backward through a list of titles beginning with the searcher's input.

Until this enhancement is in place, the best option that we can suggest is to browse through the alphabetical index (the search option "beginning with the letter..."). We recognize that this is not ideal -- the database is grower larger every day. Some letters particularly, such as J, present such a long list of titles that browsing of the list is not a feasible search option.

We appreciate the feedback on this point and we have given this option high priority in our list of functions we are seeking in our new search engine.
