Items not found in Porter (i.e. articles, books, etc.) can be requested through an interlibrary loan interface called RACER. RACER is available by clicking the tab in Primo called " request item not in TRELLIS". Through RACER, users may search a number of library catalogues simultaneously for books or journals, and submit requests for loan of a book or a copy of a journal article.
Some parts of the TUGdoc and Interlibrary Loan form will be automatically filled in with patron and limited item information/details when a request is submitted as a result of a successful search - saving user keystrokes.
Please indicate that you are a co-op student on work term and include a full mailing address (street number, apartment number, postal code, and phone number) in the special instruction section of the form.
Receiving and Returning ILL/DD Materials
The UW Library absorbs the cost for most items we obtain. Our supply time is usually 2 weeks but our service is dependent upon other libraries and document suppliers and mail delivery of items from UW to you.
The UW Library absorbs the cost of mailing photocopies and forwarding books by courier to your home address. Strict time lines imposed by lenders require that you return loaned material by the due date specified on our bookband. You may return the material in person to any UW Library Circulation Desks, or alternatively you may return material by courier (at your expense) to ILL/DD Dept., Dana Porter Library, University of Waterloo, 200 University Ave. W, Waterloo, Ontario N2L 3G1
